Handmade Brass Jewellery
Our brass jewellery is made the way it has been for over four thousand years. Each piece is hand-cast by Indian tribal artisans using the Dhokra lost-wax method, where a clay and wax mould is formed by hand, then filled with molten brass, so every piece is genuinely one of a kind. The result is warm, golden, earthy jewellery with a raw, handcrafted character: necklaces, pendants and statement pieces that carry the mark of the maker. Perfect for a boho, ethnic or minimalist look, and kind to the planet, these are ethical, handmade pieces, not factory jewellery, shipped Australia-wide.
What is Dhokra Art?
Dhokra is one of the world's oldest metal-casting traditions, practised by tribal artisans in India for over 4,000 years. Using the lost-wax method, each brass piece is cast from a hand-made mould that is broken to release it, so no two are ever identical. It is prized for its earthy, handcrafted character.
The divine couple Radha and Krishna are immortalised in this cast brass pendant, their eternal love story told through the Dhokra artisan's hands. The spiritual iconography carries both devotional meaning and aesthetic grace. This pendant becomes both talisman and artistic treasure.
To create a Dhokra piece, the artisan first shapes a detailed wax or clay mould of the desired design. This mould is filled with a blend of brass, nickel, and zinc alloy. Once the form is perfected, molten metal is carefully poured into the mould, capturing every intricate detail. After the piece is finished, the wax is reused for future creations, and the clay is returned to the earth, making the process both sustainable and eco-friendly.
Dhokra jewellery is renowned for its rustic elegance, traditional motifs, and environmentally conscious craftsmanship. Whether you’re searching for a meaningful handmade gift or a statement accessory for your own collection, this necklace brings cultural charm and timeless artistry to any Australian wardrobe.
